The current Worthy’s U12’s team comprises mostly of players who had previously played at U9’s and U10’s level for the Club plus four new recruits signed at the beginning of the 2005/2006 season. The squad performed excellently all season and although we finished sixth out of a league of ten we only suffered one heavy defeat and won more matches than were lost. The pinnacle of the season was a draw against the runaway league winners, who we were one –nil up against for most of the match. The team also performed admirably in the League’s end of season tournament, the Jock McClorey Trophy playing nine games, losing just once whilst conceding just two goals. The team has also represented the Club in tournaments at Andover, Whitchurch as well as a dream trip to Premiership Club, West Ham United for an end of season tournament.

The principle for the U12’s has been based on Football, Fun , Team Work and Discipline with regards to all other players, managers, coaches , parents , match officials as well as their own team-mates, manager and coaches. These same principles will be applied to the 2006/2007season which sees this unit move up to playing the eleven side format of the game.
