08/10/2011 Red League - CK Andover
A
6-3 The game stated with very even possession, with both sides starting well. Andover broke the deadlock just 2 minutes into the game with an early lead. This didn’t last long as B Sauve came back just 2 minutes later to put the Worthy’s level, after some great passing from the middle of pitch. After some pressure to the Worthy’s goal and some outstanding goal keeping by L Guerrier, the ball was put through to H Fawcett who didn’t need asking twice to put the Worthy’s 2-1 up after just 7 minutes. Andover came back strong to level the score 2-2 through number 7. As the game progressed Worthys kept the pressure up with some hard tackles from J White and L Kerens. Then with a few minutes to half time Fawcett scored for his second of the game and to put Worthy’s 3-2 up at half time. In the second half Andover had the majority of the play, but Worthys through some great defending kept Andover at bay, until the 35 minute to level the scores 3-3. J came on for A to strengthen the defence but Andover kept the pressure on and scored a further 3 goals, to dampen what was a very high spirited game and all the hard effort that all the players had put in. The final score CK Andover 6 Worthys 3.

08/10/2011 CK Andover - Development League
A
6-2 The development league match commenced with a determined performance from both teams with some great end to end football. Andover took an early 1-0 lead through the talented number 12. Just 2 minutes later he scored again to go 2-0 up. Worthy’s put some pressure on the Andover goal with M and L just missing the goal. Andover had a brake and scored to put them 3-0 up after 15 minutes. Then M scored for the Worthys after some great passing from L, to go 3-1. Then with seconds left of the half L scored to go in at half time 3-2. Worthy’s came out after the break strong with some great tackles from P Andrew-Power, M Lowres and L Pye. H did his best in goal with some great saves and the defence held out. But Andover kept the pressure up and scored a further 3 goals to end the game. Again a very hard fought game by the Worthys with all players putting there all in to the game. A special thanks to the catering staff for the bacon sandwiches and refreshments provided on the day.

01/10/2011 Red League Tidworth Titans
H
2-5 The game was played in hot conditions but this did not detract from the standard of football from both teams. The deadlock was broken in the 5 th minute after Worthys L Guerrier chased down a lost cause on the right to force a corner and L Kieranss corner squirmed under the Titans keeper. As the game progressed Worthys keeper J White was forced into a good save following a deflected shot after 7 minutes but two minutes later Titans T Benson equalised. L Guerrier then went close after some good work from H Fawcett down the right, however Titans O Surage scored with a low drive in the 14 th minute to make it 1-2 to the Titans. Only to see the Worthys equalise through H Fawcett after 23 minutes however the goals didn’t stop there with Titans Surage scoring his second just before the break to make the half time score 2-3 to Titans.

In the second half the standard remained high from both teams with Worthys B Suave making some crucial tackles in the middle, and after a good strike by Benson, the Worthys were unlucky not to draw level from the resulting scramble. L Guerrier went close for the Worthys with a well-struck free kick from the edge of the box, which, the Titans keeper did well to save. The Titans then took control of the game with two more strikes from Surage in quick succession, which did not deter the Worthys and J Mitchell continued to battle in the midfield to try to get Worthys back in the game. L Guerrier and H Fawcett continued to be a threat up front but were unable to finish their chances. The score did not do justice to this end-to-end encounter.

01/10/2011 Tidworth Titans - Development League
H
0-8 In this encounter the Worthys started with their development side, the Titans side closely resembled their first team so the score was soon 3-0 to Titans, however despite this S Murphy and J Thorne tried their best with some good strong tackles. C Rogers and P Andrew Power combined well midway through the first half to draw a good save from the Titans keeper and with L Pyein in goal making some fine stops the score was kept to 5-0 at half time. In the second half the changes were rung with H Fawcett in goal and J Mitchell, M Tugwell and M Lowres coming on. J Mitchell showed good skill in the opposition box and forced a good tackle from a Titans defender and throughout the game M Lowres tackled resolutely in the mid field. Unfortunately it was to no avail as Titans ‘development’ team ran out 8-0 winners.

24/09/2011 Red League Bishop Waltham Dynamos
A
4-0 This game started with very even possession. A midfield game commenced with some very spirited tackling from both teams. Bishop Waltham’s C Bent finally broke the deadlock after 14 minutes with a determined run and clinical finish. Despite a great free kick from L Kierans and a shot from H Fawcett which was well saved the first half came to a close at 1-0 In the second half Worthys had the majority of the play but were unable to find the net. A second goal from C Bent followed by a 3 rd from F Harvey against the run of play which gave the Dynamos a comfortable lead. Despite some great tackling from Kierans and B Sauve, T Sutton sealed the match with a forth goal for BW Dynamos. Both teams were trying to score right up to final whistle and the game was played in great spirit.

24/09/2011 Bishop Waltham Development League
A
1-2 This was a closely fought match with both teams showing great effort and a determination to not concede any goals. P Andrew-Power and M Lowres were very sturdy at the back for the Worthys, while up front J Thorne and S Murphy battled hard with Murphy unlucky not to score when he hit the post.

The first half saw end to end action as first Worthys applied pressure through L Pye, C Rogers and M Tugwell before Bishops Waltham responded at the other end with H Gibson going close. The first goal came after some stout defending from O Goddard before J Mitchell scored his first goal for the Worthys on his debut.

Dynamos responded quickly in the second half and ensured the lead was short lived when A Buck scored to even the score. The rest of the half saw chances at both ends with F Harvey making some excellent saves in goal for the Dynamos. With five minutes to go, L Kierans scored the winning goal with a fine strike from outside the box. Both sides then had chances to score and J Mitchell was unlucky not to cap an excellent game with his second goal.

17/09/2011 Braishfield Bees
H
0-2 In the first half of this spirited U9s match no goals were scored but there were several determined attempts by both teams. Worthys' A Males showed great tenacity in attack but Braishfield's players and especially goalkeeper, L Mayo, showed equal strength in defence. At the other end of the field Braishfield's J Bulpitt and C Tubb were forceful up front but the ball was kept away from the goal by some excellent defensive play by Worthys' L Berglin, H Fawcitt and their steadfast goalkeeper L Guerrier.

The second half began dramatically with a near-miss by Braishfield's C Tubb followed shortly afterwards by a formidable cross by Worthys' L Kierans which also just missed the mark. Worthy's J White and B Sauve  both showed excellent skills in the mid-field but a great cross by Braishfield's J Moody resulted in a hand ball and a consequent penalty neatly netted by the Bees' H Croft. Despite some great defensive play by Fawcitt and Berglin and a couple of brilliant saves by Guerrier, it wasn't long before Braishfield took a 2-0 lead with Croft scoring for the second time. J White and L Kierans both got close to scoring for the Worthys but were unable to get the ball past Mayo and the final score was 2-0 to Braishfield Bees.

10/09/2011 Tidworth Gunners Red League
A
2-1 The eagerly awaited season opener commenced at a scorching pace and the hosts took full advantage of their greater match experience early on, with a first minute goal coming from the Gunners D Yates. Their lead was doubled almost immediately with a second goal. However, the Worthys dug deep to mount a comeback. Wave after wave of Worthys advances were dealt with clinically by the Gunners defence, but in the 17 th minute, the Worthys were richly rewarded for their efforts – a goal by H Fawcett. Towards the end of the first half the Worthys defended magnificently against some well-choreographed advances from the opposition, including a couple of great saves from J White in goal. The teams emerged from the half time break in the mood for a real competition, and those on the touchline were treated to a gripping second half of spirited play, some great field length runs from L. Kierans for the Worthys really opening up the play, well supported by his trusted team mate B Sauve who had developed the knack for being everywhere on the pitch. Both teams gave a great performance right up to final whistle and should be proud of the result.

10/09/2011 Tidworth Gunners Development League
A
1-0 The development league match commenced with a determined performance from both teams who enjoyed some great end to end play, resulting in the 8 th minute goal from the Gunners. The Worthys team pulled together and defend hard, L Guerrier performing more than a couple of cat like saves to hold the score sheet, whilst at the other end of the pitch the Worthy attack headed by P Andrew-Power were unlucky not to be able to equalise. The second half saw tired legs all working hard up to the final whistle, with no further change to the score. A great start to the season for both teams.
